RECYCLING IN RC
One man's trash...
Berk Türer
Do you think we recycle enough in Robert College? What can we do to increase our recycling
rate? The chair of the Recycling Commute Ms. Bakkegard says, “Robert College is in the wright track
for recycling.” She also adds “We have a large recycling truck that comes every week. ” this truck helps
RC recycle by taking the materials which students trashed in the Recycling boxes around RC. Ms.
Bakkegard claims, “We will have more glass recycling containers.” These glass recycling containers will
help us reuse the glass and will make RC a greener community. Ms. Bakkegard touches upon the
challenges of recycling on campus, “ In the canteen we still have a challenge of recycling because lots of
busy students take all their waste and put it either in the recycling or in the garbage.” Students should
become more aware about the significance of recycling, they must also know that in the future we will
need to use less new products. If we don’t recycle and nobody recycles the human race and the world
will be in great danger because the smell of trash can be toxic causing perils.
We don’t recycle enough in the world to become self -restraining to use what we took away from
the environment. RC is a model community of a perfect world so we should focus one recycling and
informing students. Ms. Bakkegard suggests, ”We should have more student involvement in the
recycling committee and we are open to new ideas from students.” RC should try to inform students
about the importance of recycling because without student involvement RC can’t recycle any. When the
students, the teachers in the school and the workers work hand in hand we can become a fully self sustaining community which will be an exemplary for the whole world..
I pity the recycling plant workers ifthat juice box isn't empty...
