New Forest Sports News
In a surprise turnaround, after performing
poorly in the opening rounds of the World
Cup, New Milton Football club went on to
win last Sunday’s final against Germany by
an astounding 14 - 0.
The first half started slowly, but picked
up pace after a German own goal, giving
a boost and renewed confidence to the
previously flagging New Milton team.
Star striker Ed Walker then scored the first
of his six goals of the match via a flukey
header. Other goals were scored by Rory
Patterson (3), Sean Redmond (3) and
through an extremely lucky kick from Ely
Swinson (goal-keeper) (1).
The entire team have now decided to retire,
the reason given being - we can’t top that.
No statement is available from the
manager who is said to be speechless.
