During Tampa Bay’s annual pirate fest known as Gasparilla, you can be sure the dogs will be part of the festivities. Known world-wide as the infamous pirate bar, what better place to celebrate the third annual Barkarilla than the dogfriendly Gaspar’s Grotto in Ybor City? Hosted by the Krewe of Samuel Bellamy, the annual event is a fundraiser for Animal Based Charities, Tampa. On the following Saturday, Gaspar’s Grotto also hosted the Second Annual Cutest Pirate Dog Costume Contest, presented by The Krewe of Alegria to benefit Animal Coalition of Tampa and Alegria’s Kickin’ for Kids.
