I naugural H arvest H istory F estival
The historic image above shows an apricot-cutting
party that took place in a Mountain View orchard in
1896. Like much of Santa Clara Valley’s agricultural lands, the orchard
where this picture was taken was developed decades ago. This particular
site is now home to the San Antonio Shopping Center.
But did you know that one
commercial orchard remains in
Mountain View? It’s the Francia
orchard on Whisman Road
(pictured to the left). And guess
which crop is grown there?
Apricots! Come celebrate this
