Winter Meeting Recap
MOVING MOUNTAIN VIEW
Looking Back at Our Transportation History
At our Winter Meeting on January 31, our members and guests gathered in the historic Adobe Building to learn about local
transportation history. The afternoon’s cool temperatures allowed us to light up the Adobe’s fireplace, creating a warm and cozy
environment to mix and mingle over refreshments procured by our Hospitality Chair, Helene Hughes.
The meeting began with brief welcoming remarks from our new MVHA President Candace Bowers. Mountain View Mayor Patricia
Showalter then introduced Rod Diridon Sr., our featured guest speaker for the afternoon. Rod presented an informative slide
show that traced the rich history of rail transportation in Santa Clara County. After Rod’s presentation, Aaron Quigley from the
Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority brought us up to speed on recent and upcoming transportation projects in the area.
Very special thanks to MVHA Member Lucas Ramirez, for organizing the afternoon’s program!
