On the Web
We recently started digitally scanning some of the History Center’s photographic slide collection. One slide shows
the storefront of Stig’s Danish Bakery, a popular place to grab a pastry in the Palm Plaza Shopping Center on
Castro Street in the 1970s and 1980s. On September 3, we posted the photo to our Facebook page and asked
people if they remembered Stig’s.They sure did! Here are some of the memories they shared:
“I’m still trying to lose
the 20 lbs I gained from
Stiggs as a child”

“I’m convinced that ALL
the Cream Puffs I ate at
our 10:10 break (all 4
years of high school) is
the reason I have a hard
time losing weight now!
They were so worth it!
I really miss those days!”
