We live in an era of choice, so we are
provided with a number of options for
everything we buy. This has become
particularly the case with motor vehicles. Not too long ago, if you wanted
an SUV, you only had a limited pool
of cars to choose from. Nowadays
though, you can have a very large
SUV, a very small SUV and a mid-size
one too. This has even been broken
down into brands, with manufacturers
diversifying their options drastically.
Quite recently, we had the opportunity to sample the new Mercedes-Benz
GLC, a medium size SUV competing
with the likes of BMW’s X3 and Audi’s
Q5. Personally I’m not a huge fan of
cars in this segment but after driving
a number of these cars, one understands why they’re so popular with
many middle aged buyers seeking
more space and practicality.
Design:
The GLC’s outward appearance is a
combination of strong lines and traditional Mercedes-Benz features,
which create an eye pleasing result.
It’s no secret that cars in this segment
have been deemed more feminine but
the GLC goes against that, particularly when it specified with the AMGLine. At the same time, we wouldn’t
deem
