In our Infrared Thermography course , students will learn the fundamentals of infrared energy and the infrared camera , as well as the most common applications .
CATEGORY I THERMOGRAPHY
With the assistance of the Mobius Institute interactive simulations , 3D animations , and case studies , students will not need a photographic memory to learn all the facts and concepts but , instead , will understand the ‘ science ’ of infrared thermography . Students will understand how the camera functions and will learn about plant equipment ’ s mechanical and electrical failure modes in order to accurately and confidently detect and diagnose a wide range of fault conditions . We will provide students with the knowledge and confidence to be successful as an infrared thermographer .
Mobius Institute ’ s Infrared Thermography Category I training course is recognized as meeting the training requirements for certification by MIBoC .

INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY DICTIONARY
Natural Convection Heat transfer between a surface and adjacent fluid ( usually air ) and by the flow of fluid from one place to another , induced by temperature differences rather than by mechanical means , also called free convection . Compare with forced convection .
