Story and Mission
Homelessness affects hundreds of families in Mobile County each year . Family Promise of Coastal Alabama is the place where many are warmly welcomed by friends and neighbors from the community who offer the help they need to get back on their feet . Usually , congregations rotate as “ host ”, ( i . e . offering their worship space for sleeping ), and volunteers prepare and serve meals . We ’ ve scaled down the rotation due to COVID , but families are still being safely sheltered and fed . During the day , parents work with an experienced case manager to make a plan to tackle the obstacles in their paths . We offer transportation to school , work , and vital appointments , educational services , budgeting and parenting skills classes . In the end , about 80 % of families in the program exit into stable housing . The best part is that families never had to be apart from one another when they need each other most .

The mission of Family Promise of Coastal Alabama is to provide temporary shelter , related services , and nurturing support to families as they work to achieve and sustain independence .
How long have you been serving the Gulf Coast ? Since 2003 .
What ’ s the organization ’ s impact on the community ? We ’ ve sheltered and offered housing support to over 500 families .
What is the most important thing to know about your organization ?
We believe every family deserves a home . Every community can make that happen .

Story and Mission
Flourish is a non-profit serving at-risk teen girls in Mobile & Baldwin Counties , AL . Our mission is to equip and empower teen girls to excel and flourish in all aspects of life . We offer a free community center in Daphne , AL for our girls to visit weekly for workshops , skills training and personal development .
Each month , 20 + girls are meeting with women mentors around Mobile & Baldwin County to support them on their life journey . Every week , they are meet at our community center for workshops focused on health , personal development , creativity & community service .
We launched in the Fall of 2020 and have since offered the teen girls over 150 + hours of hands-on workshops , 150 + hours of one-on-one mentoring , and over 350 + hours of volunteer service to our community .
The word Flourish means to grow in a healthy way because of your environment . We believe that our community center gives the girls a safe and positive place to grow into the women they were created to be .
