Story and Mission
The Alabama Coastal Foundation was founded over 28 years ago , and became a statewide organization in 2012 . Our mission is to improve and protect Alabama ' s coastal environment through cooperation , education , and participation . We lead both the Alabama Oyster Shell Recycling and Share the Beach Sea Turtle Conservation programs , as well as provide public education and meaningful activities for our volunteers .
The two big things happening now at ACF are raising awareness about our new Share the Beach license plates and introducing legislation to help protect Alabama ' s Underwater Forest as a National Marine Sanctuary !
