Story and Mission B ig Brothers Big Sisters of South Alabama (BBBSSA) is the largest one-to-one mentoring organization in south Alabama. Our mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. We are not saviors or heroes. Instead, we create and professionally support meaningful relationships to help children ignite and harness their own potential—the potential they have had all along. We’ve been serving families nationally for 116 years and south Alabama for over 20 years. Our latest Program Outcome Evaluation Metrics revealed: 98% of our Littles are more confident they will finish high school, 91% improved academically, 93% had improved relationships with peers and adults, 91% avoided risky behaviors and 98% had an increased sense of future. These results galvanize our relentless commitment to fighting for the children of Baldwin, Escambia, Mobile and Monroe Counties. Above: Big Sister Vicki and Little Sister Teneshia Big Brothers Big Sisters asks that you thoughtfully consider joining our efforts by supporting our evidenced-based mission financially and/or by volunteering your time as a mentor or in another capacity (such as our events). Our mission is completely locally supported. Event details along with volunteer and donation opportunities are available online at www.bbbssa.org. Our Littles have the potential to change the world, and we are standing together to defend them. Please join us.
