Story and Mission
L
ifelines Counseling Services is a local non-profit
that provides individuals and families with
counseling, assistance, referrals, and education.
For over 60 years, our agency has worked to help
those in Southwest Alabama work though problems
of everyday life stress all the way to crisis & trauma.
Through our various programs, Lifelines Counseling
Services offers family and financial counseling; crisis
services for homicide, suicide, and sexual assault; and
also referrals through the United Way 211 information
line. Our agency offers a holistic approach to helping
everyone by working not only internally through
programs to completely help those who come to us,
but also by working with other local non-profits in
our community.
Our agency offers several volunteer opportunities
such as Rape Crisis Center victim advocates, 211 Call
Center Specialists and suicide prevention hotline
call specialists. If you are interested in learning
more about these opportunities, visit our website
