own barbershop. From the story students learn about saving, savings goals, and opportunity cost. The lesson provides a card game to further investigate what it takes to reach a savings goal. Eva Johnston is the Senior Economic Education Specialist at the St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank. She is formerly taught at Marquette High School in the Rockwood Schools District. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the
University of Missouri-Columbia and a Master’s Degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
