Group 2, who received Tier 1 ELA core instruction only and served as the control group, increased, on average, 9.8% on capital letter names, 9.8% on lowercase letter names, and 23.5% on letter sound production.
Group 1, who was treated with KPALS instruction, increased at a greater growth rate than Group 2, who served as the control group, in all three categories tested. Specifically, Group 1 increased at a significantly greater rate than Group 2 in lowercase letter names and letter sound production. Group 1 increased 6% more on capital letter names, 23.5% more on lowercase letter names, and 31.7% more on letter sound production.
