The emphasis for students to become more well-read and better educated readers and thinkers is widespread, and the pressure will only continue to increase with evolving curriculum standards nationwide. The importance of literature circles, according to Daniels (2006), is that comprehension levels will improve while also helping to develop a nation of readers.
