Assistant Editor’s Comments Keisha Panagos, Ph.D. One of my favorite responsibilities of being the Assistant Editor is getting to read all the submissions and being able to establish relationships with the authors on a personal level. Thank you to all the writers that submit your work to the journal. Without high-quality manuscript submissions we would be unable to provide such an excellent resource of literacy practices. I want to give a special thank you to all the members of our Editorial Board for your hard work and dedication to the journal. Without your thought provoking and critical examinations of the submissions The Missouri Reader would be hard pressed to maintain the scholarly and practice based integrity that we strive so hard to achieve. Thank you to the Editor, Dr. Kathryn Pole for allowing me this wonderful opportunity as Assistant Editor. I have enjoyed working with you over the past four years. Your guidance and love for research based literacy practices has been an inspiration and your guidance and mentorship is very much appreciated. I am very excited about assuming the role as Editor of The Missouri Reader. I look forward to the next issue regarding Common Core Standards and urge you to submit your manuscripts. I hope you enjoy this issue! Keisha Panagos ©The Missouri Reader, 36 (2) p. 6
