CDA AWARD WINNERS: RECOGNIZING EXCELLENCE
Exceptional individuals were recognized for their contributions to the dental profession, the dental
community or the oral health of Canadians at the annual CDA award ceremonies held in Ottawa in April.

The Award of Merit recognizes an individual
who has served in an outstanding capacity in the
governing or service of CDA over a sustained
period of time, or who has made similar
outstanding
contributions to
the
dental
profession, the dental community, or the oral
health of Canadians and/or society at large. This
year, there were 3 recipients of the award
including CAPD’s Dr. Dennis Bedard.

In addition to his many notable career achievements, including associate professor in the department of
pediatric dentistry at the University of Alberta and past-president of the Alberta Academy of Pediatric
