Sir Dhunjibhoy died in 1937. The house was then inherited by his
wife, Freny Bomanji who continued to support the local charities
that her husband had given so generously to. In 1984, she was
made an Honorary Freeman of The Borough for her charitable
services. Lady Bomanji died in 1986 and the house then passed
on to their only surviving child, Mehroo Jehangir. A widow without
children, Mrs Jehangir, continued the charitable tradition of her
parents and preserved the house exactly as it had been in their
lifetime. She died, in her 90s, in 2012.
The house and estate were recently purchased by Harrogate
businessman Jason Shaw.
