Recently, one of the most
historic houses in Harrogate,
UK was sold in a multi-million
pound
deal.
Practically
untouched, this enormous and
opulent property once belonged
to
the
Indian-born
Sir
Dhunjibhoy and Lady Bomanji
who were shipping magnates
and key figures in the British
high society in the 1920s. The
house, which was the venue of
lavish and extravagant parties,
was frequented by the rich and
powerful of the British society
including many members of the
royal family.
Being untouched for over 25
years and lost in the mists of
time, this 40 room, 17000 sq.
feet mansion called “Pineheath”
situated on a 1.3 acre land, still
has the original gold-plated
taps, ornate carved ceilings
decorated with gold leaf,
observation tower, garages with
central
heating
for
Rolls
Royce’s, accommodation for
chauffeurs,
cottages
for
gardeners, a Steinway grand
piano (which once belonged to
a German Kaiser), an elevator,
exquisite furniture, priceless
paintings, crockery and China.
