Nikola Tesla
Tesla was a brilliant scientist in the early 20th century, who was
an internationally known inventor. A veritable genius, he was
responsible for developing the alternating current, radio, wireless
technology, neon lamps, and X-rays. Unfortunately, Tesla’s life
was stifled by the likes of none other than the famous scientist
Thomas Edison, who deprived Tesla of wealth and recognition.
Tesla was also deprived of the recognition for the invention of the
radio by Marconi, who stole 17 of Tesla’s patents before claiming
to be the inventor of the radio.
Tesla died penniless in 1943 in the New Yorker Hotel, where he
had lived for 10 years after being evicted from another hotel for
not paying his bill.
