The Mind Creative DEC 2013
In 1952, Mandela joined
forces with friend Oliver
Tambo to open Mandela
and Tambo, the only allblack African law firm in the
country at the time.
Despite eating at some of
the finest tables in the
world, Mandela had a
passion for tripe, which was
often served in South
African cuisine as a stew
with hot pap (a polenta-like
porridge).
Mandela has had many
things named after him,
from
woodpeckers
to
apartments to flowers.
Leeds University honoured
him by naming the Mandela
particle in 1973.
According to the Nelson
Mandela Foundation, he
has more than 1,000
awards to his credit,
including the Nobel Peace
Prize
and
the
U.S.
Congressional Medal
“Unlike some
politicians, I can
admit to a
mistake.”
