MILK FEST FODDER MOONS GREEN CHARCUTERIE Moons Green Charcuterie make British saucisson, air-dried ham and other cured meats by hand using traditional methods and ingredients. Based at Owley Farm near Wittersham, the products are all prepared using the finest free-range and outdoor-raised pork from Kent and the Sussex/Hampshire borders. They were winners of The Great British Food Awards in 2016. The company is led by John Doig, a much-travelled Kiwi food writer and cook who settled in Kent to educate his children after a lifetime in Asia, New York and France. John has a passion for food and can tell you a dozen different ways to enjoy a pig’s ear or add flavour to a rare breed pork terrine. His products are available at Borough Market, Brockley Market, local farm shops and direct from the butchery. www.moonsgreen.co.uk www.facebook.com/pages/moons-green-charcuterie www.twitter.com/moonsgreen CLAIRE’S BREAD Claire’s Bread is an artisan bakery in the heart of Kent. Run by Claire Edwards, who quit the City five years ago to devote herself to breadmaking, the bakery has acquired a legion of local fans and become a star supplier for many restaurants, pubs and farm shops. Claire believes that life is too short for bad bread. Her offerings range from traditional French loaves and sourdough to sexy scones and buns. But there are a few things they all have in common: top-notch ingredients, fresh flavours and an expert’s attention to detail. Oh, and no nasty chemicals. Claire loves living in Kent, where people are passionate about food and drink. And whether she’s baking with apples from Chittenden Farm or beer from Whitstable Brewery, her ingredients showcase the best of the county. www.facebook.com/claires-bread 23
