Making a List & Checking It Twice

Deployment doesn't have to be a lonely, boring experience. In fact, if you send him over there with a list, he can pick you up some FABULOUS goodies while he's there! Here are a few hints from girls who've been there, done that...

"First, just because it's cheap doesn't mean we want it. In fact, if it's cheap, I definitely don't want it. Forget the ripped movies with the fake paper covers, because I'd rather go to the cinema with him once he gets home."

"I don't know what he expects me to do with ten cartons of stale cigarettes, really. Especially considering I don't even smoke."

"If it's a genuine burka, that could be cool. I'm not sure if I'd ever wear it, though."

"Yeah, those matching pillowcase/blanket combinations are a great memento, but he could at least try to get something that matches what we have at home."

"A marble chess set is a neat idea, if I knew how to play chess. I guess I can learn."

"Jewellery is always welcome, if it's genuine."

"Emeralds! I love emeralds. And they're cheap over there. I got a pair of emerald earrings and wear them all the time."

"Every one likes gold. A nice collection of gold bangles with varying patterns is a great idea."
