Introduction In May 2008, according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMETs) held 41,400 jobs. Employment for BMETs are expected to grow 27% over the decade, which is much faster than the average for all occupations. As the percentage of people in older age groups grow faster than the total population between 2008 and 2018, demand for overall healthcare will increase.
