Holiness Younus AlGohar
What is emotional intelligence (EQ) and why is it important?
A
SK MOST PEOPLE WHAT THEY
think makes the world go round and
they will most likely say that it is money.
Idealists might argue that it is not money, but
rather love that is the most important thing.
The truth is that both are only partially correct.
It is what money makes possible - and how
those possibilities make us feel - that motivates
us. Similarly, our love for others and our own
pursuit of love are motivating factors, but they
do not encompass every aspect of our lives.
Emotions - both positive and negative - play a
pivotal role in human behaviour and the system
the world operates on.
His Holiness Younus AlGohar, the official
representative of His Divine Eminence Lord Ra
4
Riaz Gohar Shahi, says, ‘Not enough has been
discussed in the spiritual circles about human
behaviour and emotions. However, everything is
revolving around emotions.’
Wherever we go, our behaviour depends on
the emotions we experience. Whether it be love
or hatred, generosity or stinginess, forgiveness
or animosity, it is all about emotions.
With emotions being so crucial in every facet
of our existence, having the ability to understand
emotions, control them and even utilise them
for your own good and for the good of others
is a necessary skill. That is what it means to be
emotionally intelligent.
You’ve probably heard the term ‘emotional
intelligence’ before but never has there

been such a complete manual to practically
increase your emotional intelligence. That is
because, previously, emotional intelligence has
been discussed purely from a psychological
standpoint. However, thanks to the revolutionary
knowledge from HDE Lord Ra Riaz Gohar Shahi,
we now have profound insight into the spiritual
aspects of emotional intelligence.
HH Younus AlGohar asserts, ‘Psychology is
incomplete without spirituality. Psychology is the
study of human behaviour, but it doesn’t tell you
what it is that human behaviour depends on.’
This issue of the Messiah Herald delves into
the depths of the human psyche and demystifies
emotions. It will help you understand the
sources of your positive and negative emotions,
