HOW TO REACH GOD
ULTIMATE SELF-MASTERY AND self-awareness are only possible with the help of spirituality. That’ s because what makes you‘ you’ is not your body, but rather your inner being. Think of your body like a container and your souls as your essence. Your body is just part of your reality on a temporary basis.
Spirituality is the knowledge that caters for your souls; it empowers and strengthens them so that they can reach their full potential.
According to the teachings of His Divine Eminence Lord Ra Riaz Gohar Shahi, a human being is a compound of many spirits. In total, there are seven subtleties in the body, including the main Human Soul.
Six of these spirits are related to the celestial realms and they are divine in nature. When enlightened, they help you get connected with God, communicate with God, make spiritual journeys and absorb the attributes of God. For example, the Spiritual Heart works like a telephone operator between you and God; it is the recipient of divine revelation when it is enlightened. Unfortunately, these six souls remain in a dormant state unless spiritually revived.
Besides the six celestial spirits, there is an entity known as the Carnal Self( the ego) which is activated as soon as you are born. Its nature, unlike the other six subtleties in you, is negative. It is responsible for many detestable traits in you.
Attached to four of the subtleties in the human breast are esoteric birds. A cockerel is clung to the Spiritual Heart, causing lust to prevail in it. A crow afflicts the Sirri( Secret) with greed, a peacock afflicts the Khafi( Arcane) with jealousy and a pigeon clung to the Akhfah( Obscure) causes stinginess. In addition to these esoteric diseases, weakness in the main Human Soul could result in chronic anger.
His Divine Eminence explains in his book, The Religion of God( Divine Love),‘ The traits of these birds compel the souls of the breast to adopt greed and jealousy, until the souls are enlightened.’ 1
It is for this reason that even after a lifelong struggle, those who search for self-awareness without spiritualising their souls are unable to free themselves from the grip of these negative emotions.
There is no educational institution that can teach you spiritual self-awareness. The process of becoming self-aware begins in you. The more your heart is enlightened and the more your Carnal Self is mortified, the closer you get to God.
