Golf Tip of the Month With the Masters Chris Marotto Director of Golf fast approaching the golf season is officially upon us.  When determining the winner of that event and just about every event on the PGA Tour the player who putts the best normally wins the tournament.  Here are a couple tips to remember and try out the next time you practice or play: ➊ Develop a routine. Your routine Tips for can be unique to you. It can be Practice whatever you want, but it must or Play be the same whether you are putting for birdie, or putting to save a double bogey. Doing the same over and over again will help you in those pressure moments. If you have already practiced it a thousand times, it will be easier to make the putt. That is what the Tour players rely on when they are putting for millions! ➋ Don’t aim at the hole on breaking putts. Instead, visualize the path the ball will need to take accounting for break, and pick the spot along that line where you want the putt to “die,” and catch the break to the hole. Then, hit the ball to that spot. ➌ Keep your head completely, totally still and your eye laser-beamed on the spot where the ball is, both during the stroke, and even for two or three seconds after making contact with the ball. You’ll be astonished by how accurate you are when you look up! It feels very weird at first, but the payoff is huge. Like the great Gary Player always says, “Putt with your ears” If you can listen for the ball to go in, . you will make far more putts than you miss.  Sip n’ Swing Fun Join Chris Marotto, Director of Golf, every Thursday at 5:30 p.m. for Sip n’ Swing fun!
