Health Disorders in Royal Families
The reproductive health disorders were a huge problem in Europe; these disorders were
affecting the population and also the royal families. There were a lot of diseases in men that
damaged
their reproductive system and made them infertile such as cancer disorders
like
testicular cancer and prostate cancer. Women also had disorders like
atrophic vaginitis; this also hurt the reproductive system and
cancer disorders such as ovule cancer in women. Another
important disease is Hemophilia; it is a rare bleeding disorder in
which the blood doesn't clot normally. This disorders were the
beginning of a huge problem in the European population and
in the royal families including their Kings and Queens.
Louis XVI had a disease called phimosis, which can
start to provoke complications during sex, so this meant
that Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette had complication trying
to get more kids. 7 years passed and there was no baby, so
people started to worry, since they would have no one to
give the reign to. The people started thinking that it could be
the end of the monarchy. It was also believed that he has a
difficult childhood; also some people believed that it could
have been something about his religious beliefs. Something
curious that
happened,
after all those
years they
had a
baby, after about 7
or 8 years
of not being able to do so. Some people believe
it was a
spontaneous case, others believe that it could’ve
been
circumcision.
An important woman that had a disorder
is
Marie
Antoinette she suffered from a reproductive
disease
known as ' l'étroitesse du chemin', a narrow
vagina
that made her frigid. She was a queen with many
problems,
and people could notice her complicated life.
They knew
how poorly she was ruling his country Austria;
thanks
to
this the problems were negative for the society.
Besides that
disorder, Marie Antoinette developed a type of fever
that
lost
most of her hair and made it white. So, this type of
disorders
she had, affected the society making it an instable
one.
To conclude, many royal families had suffered
badly with
these diseases that relate to the reproductive health
disorders,
and had affected badly the population. Besides the
diseases,
population was very affected since their rulers
weren’t in a
good state to rule so they were not stable. Minor
social
problems started to arose thanks to these diseases; also inside the royal families they started to spread
because intercourse between them. So, finally these diseases did affect the way of living for the people since
the rulers were not fully concentrated in making a better country.
