it's size which is "in-between" a small 20" and a larger 26" bike.
It's also compact with a folded size of 42 x 89 x 76 cm and is truly ideal to be transported to wherever you are.
The supplied luggage racks on the S18 means you can rig it up for a short bikepacking trip or a long-duration tour.
What's even awesome on the Eclipse P18 package is the award-winning biologic seatpost pump.
This enables the cyclist to keep his or her bike's tire pressure consistant on the go.
Other bells and whistles
The Tern Eclipse S18 is built with disk brakes for superior stopping power.
And for the comfort of its rider, a set of SKS fenders are added.
This keeps rain water from splashing onto the cyclist.
A SRAM 2 x 9 drivetrain means that the Eclipse S18 will be able to tackle any riding conditions.
We can be assured of either the Schwalbe Big Apple or Marathon Supreme tires being used on the bike and a pair of Ergon grips with bar ends would be welcomed by cyclists who are into touring rides.
In short, the Eclipse S18 is an "all inclusive" bike at an unbeatable pricing package.
Solid and built like a tank
Erich Mah, Tern Bicycles Project Manager for Consumer Marketing said the Eclipse P18 is built like a tank.
It rolls over any bumps and thuds with ease.
Prior to its delivery in the last-quarter of this year, the bike has been thoroughly tested in the Streets of Taipei and was shown at Eurobike 2013 in Germany and the Interbike Exhibition in Las Vegas, USA.
On availability, on the Eclipse P18 variant will be made available in Malaysia.
Tern Malaysia representative Kevin Fong said the bikes will ship early next year and are scheduled to be retailed as early as March.
The Eclipse P18, said Fong, will be sold at Rodalink outlets as well as leading folding bike stores around the Klang Valley.
An addition to the Eclipse platform, the P18 and S18 joins the ranks of five existing models of the Tern Eclipse 24" folding bikes.
