Editor's note
A year ago, in the wake of uncertainty, I sat down and weighed my options.
One was to take voluntary retrenchment and seek a new path.
That's where I hatched the idea of coming up with a dedicated e-magazine on folding bikes. I had the contacts and know-how and began to work on a suitable title, hence, "The Malaysian Foldie".
For this, I have to personally thank Kriz Gomeze of Thailand's Bicycle United for inspiring me to come up with a monthly magazine.
And to the uninitiated, her magazine is Thailand's premier billingual journal which is highly sought-after by cycling enthusiasts.
I had the previlege to meet up with Kris in Taipei earlier this year to exchange some views about the sport. Ironically, Kris too is a folding bike enthusiast who rides a Brompton bike.
That said, I hope to meet her again in the 2015 Taipei Cycle show.
Moving on, we are a year-old and are still working on getting the magazine mobile-ready.
So, to all you IOS and Android users out there, just hang on a little bit longer!
In this issue of The Malaysian Foldie, we talk to Y.P. Chan or better known as "Ah Pan" on his bicycling adventures.
On rides, we explore the Chamang waterfalls in Bentong, Pahang.
We also take a closer look at the Birdy Classic folding bike as well as Topeak's X-tool, Schwalbe's Durano tire and the magnificent Ortlieb front roller classic pannier.
Lastly, thank you for your continuous support and remember to ride safe when you hit the road.
