Putrajaya Ceria Ride

Families and friends get together for a short social ride around the nation's administrative capital..

PUTRAJAYA'S Ceria ride is a cycling event that fosters goodwill among cyclists as well as family unity.

It's held once a month and is smaller scale event compared to the Putrajaya Interparks Ride.

The Ceria Ride covers a shorter distance and is open for participation to all cyclists covering a wide variety of bikes.

It's short course around Putrajaya's commercial and residential precincts allows visitors and newcomers to the sport of cycling a glimpse of the daily life in the nation's administrative capital.

The short distance is an ideal set-up for beginners to try out urban cycling.

Food is provided upon registration and during the ride, a group of dedicated ride Marshalls will guide cyclists througout the route.

To keep the participants in check and balance, checkpoints are set up for the cyclists to re-group and receive water and food.

For a ride such as the Kayuhan Ceria Putrajaya, it's typical to observe routes no longer than 20km. A special and shorter

route of 10km is provided for children accompanied by their parents.

There is also a support crew to pick up downed riders as well as a paramedic team to treat emergencies.

Post-ride, lucky draws are conducted by the organizers where a few winners would go home with bikes and prizes related to cycling.

The ride is hosted by the Perbadanan Putrajaya and word about it's time and venue is spread through the social media at sites like Facebook.

Registration is free and this ride is open to all Malaysian residents.
