Four beginners share their passion about cycling and how they got into the "fold"..

FATHER AND SON TEAM: Johnaton Lee and his father Lee Hong Leng took up cycling to see the world.

BUSINESSMAN Lee Hong Leng bought his Dahon Eco3 folding bike a year ago.

He didn't actually started cycling until recently with his son Johnathan who was also on his first folding bike.

Both father and son said they were influenced by their peers.

"In my case, it was peer pressure.

"I see my friends jumping into the cycling bandwagon and began to research a bit on a bike that suits my budget.

So, I ended up with a Dahon Eco3 that fits the bill," said the elder Lee.

Cycling, he added, would help in running a healthy lifestyle.

"I am also a foodie and look forward to explore some good makan places with the bicycle.

"You tend to see and experience more on a bicycle compared to motorised vehicles," he added.

To the 30-year-old Johnathan, his ultimate goal is to do the 400km Lombok ride in Indonesia.

"I've been on road and mountain bikes before this and it has been a long break.

"The reason why I chose a folding bike is because of its ease of storage.

"I have at least two bikes that are permanently in my car boot, and this means I can ride at any given time," he explained.

The IT expert said his bike of choice is the Tern Link P9.

The bike, he added, was discontinued from Tern Bicycle's line-up and he's just in for it because of the premium components.
