After returning from his studies, he continued to commute regularly with his trusty Brompton P6R. This includes daily train rides to the city centre with the RapidKL LRT and Monorail or the KTMB Komuter services.
In short, Ng travels all over the city with his trusty foldie.
"I have plenty of mileage on my Brommie and now, I need to replace its chain tension pulley as its completely worn out."
For the prospective bike commuter, Ng's advise is to stay visible, observe the traffic rules and be mindful when boarding the train by folding and bagging the bicycle.
Cycling in heavy traffic, says the music man, gave him an opportunity to motorists to see the effeciency of a bicycle in getting from one point to another.
"Its psychology. When they see me whizzing past without much hassle, this makes them think and want to get on a bicycle again.
"A folding bike is nippy and the only thing you burn is fat, not petrol."
Ng commutes regularly from his home in an apartment in SS2, Petaling Jaya to the SS2 commercial area where he runs a studio and music training centre.
He cited an example where he rode from Petaling Jaya to Malacca to perform in an electronic orchestra.
The 400km commute was a memorable event as he rode with two friends.
"We set out early in the morning and reached Malacca at night where I immediately attended a meeting prior to my performance.
"Riding with the two bicycling legends was one of the highlights of the year."
With a surge in bicycle sales and the phenomenal rise of the foldies, Ng hoped that more folding bike owners would take the challenge of commuting to work more regularly with their rides.
To get the ball rolling, he is now encouraging his girlfriend, who is also a musician to cycle.
"My Rallyart F1-18 is going to be the ride for the love of my life and I hope she will pick up the good habit."
