Hunting
Avid hunters will find upland birds and waterfowl; small game including
snowshoe hare, squirrel, rabbit, and coyote; and big game like moose, deer,
bobcat, and bear in The Maine Highlands.
Hunting is permitted—in season—with bow and arrow, crossbow, and
firearms. Choose from many sporting camps and guide services to ensure
that you are properly outfitted for a safe and successful foray.

Hunting & Fishing Licenses
YOU’LL NEED A LICENSE TO FISH OR HUNT IN MAINE.
Game wardens, though very friendly, will assess stiff penalties
on anyone caught without a license. Visit the Maine Department
of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife to learn more about state
regulations and apply for a license online: maine.gov/ifw.
