GETTING A MAINE
MARRIAGE LICENSE:
• Residents must file intentions
and obtain a license in their local
municipal clerk’s office. Non-
residents may obtain a license
for use anywhere in Maine at
any municipal clerk’s office.
• T  here is no waiting period. Maine
requires no blood test, but the
couple must possess photo ID.
• There is a $40 fee for obtaining
a Maine wedding license.
