The main aim of any advertisement is to attract the consumer‘s
attention; it can be defined as the
degree to which the activity which it processes is devoted towards the
stimulus that is being targeted.
There are many factors that influence attention such as size, color,
position, novelty and repetition. The
size of the stimulus has a greater impact on the attention of the
customers as greater the size the more
will be the attention towards that advertisement. The colors used in
the advertisement also has an
impact on the attention which it draws, the colors used in the main
advertisement lines should stand out
from its background. Position of the advertisement whether on
television or on hoarding also affect the
attention of the viewers. A familiar object in a novel situation tends to
attract attention therefore an
advertisement should use logos and objects that are familiar to the
viewers. Repetition also creates an
image in the minds of the viewers. My Prof. response
You posit "A familiar object in a novel situation tends to attract
attention therefore an advertisement
should use logos and objects that are familiar to the viewers.
Repetition also creates an image in the
minds of the viewers" which is most interesting to say the least.
