something about its name drew
me, but I learnt this labyrinth
was only temporary and was
now no longer available.
However, something about it
still stayed with me. I guess it
was the name and what I took
from it.
“Trinity”. Yes, being in a mass
media culture, it’s
understandable that one of the
first things that comes to mind
is the character “Trinity” from
“The Matrix”.
Ever wonder why she is called
“Trinity”? Well, it depends on
your perspective, but notice
how she is the feminine
counterpart of Neo, so she plays
a massive role in the story. Neo
is the ones that most people
relate to, due to his awareness
of there being something not
quite right with the world, but
Trinity is a massive part of the
story. She represents the
strength, complete certitude in
her purpose, a solid detachment
from things of no use, absolute
love and balance. There are
several times when Neo actually
relies on her certitude to get
through. She is the balance.
The Trinity is also the
consciousness of the Mind, Body
And The Spirit and almost every
culture, religious and spiritual
traditions, symbolise divinity as
a holy trinity.
In Christianity, it’s the Father,
Son and the Holy Ghost.
In Ancient Egypt, The Three
Wise Men, recognized in
Christianity is also related to
the 3 stars of the Belt of Orion,
which the 3 Egyptian Pyramids
are modeled after. The 3 stars
also point to Osiris’ star Sirius.
The Hindu Trinity,
The One God is symbolized by
three deities, as universal
forces of the universe. Each
aspect containing one another.
Each deity also has it’s
*female consort (feminine
aspect)
The Trimurti.
Brahma – creator of the
universe. *Saraswati
Vishnu – preserver of the
universe. *Lakshmi
Shiva - destroyer of the
universe. *Kali
The three gunas (fundamental
attributes, modes of being)
Sattva – Purity (Essence)
