Question asked by Aunslaught ihd Answer: Imam Ali (a.s) said, ‘A servant’s faith is not complete until he loves one whom Allah, the Glorious, loves and hates one whom Allah, the Glorious, hates.’ [Ibid. no. 10849] However, it is very important not to let our ego fog our vision, for just because we have faith in our hearts today by no means are we guaranteed faith tomorrow. While at the very same time, just because someone does not believe and have faith today does not mean that he/she will not believe and have faith tomorrow. And this place that we find ourselves resting in in this very nswer moment is all due to the vastness of the Mercy of Allah (swt), and not in the least bit due to the fact that 'I' am great or 'I' am better than anyone else or 'I' have a higher preference and 'I' followed the truth. No rather it is only a result of the vastness of the Mercy of Allah, Subhanahu wa Ta3la, which truly encompasses all things, Whom placed faith in mine and each of our hearts. Eph 2:8: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — So with that being said, it is extremely essential for us to follow the example of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) and the Imams (a.s), whom were Infallible and were aware of that which was in the heart of each person and their destination (Heaven or Hell), yet, SubhanAllah, they treated their very enemies with such kindness, compassion and good nature. And one of the best examples of the Noble Ethics and Manners of the chosen Guardians of Allah (swt), is the example of Imam Ali (a.s) in the battle of the Camel: In the battle of Camel (Jang-eJamal) in the thick of the encounter his slave Qambar pbuh brought some sweet syrup saying: “My Master the sun is very hot you have been constantly fighting, have a glass of this cold drink to refresh yourself.” Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib (a.s) looked around himself and replied: “Shall I refresh myself when hundreds of people around me are lying wounded and dying of thirst and wounds? Instead of bringing sweet syrup for me take a few men with you and give each of these wounded persons a cool drink.” Qambar pbuh said, “My Master, they are all our enemies.” Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib (a.s) replied: “They may be but they are human beings and attend to them.“ And in the tafsir of Imam Hassan Al-Askari (a.s), he (Imam Hasan al-Askari a.s) said: "Being polite to the Nasibis (l.a) is better than giving charity for ones self and for ones brothers. The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) was in his house when Abdullah Bin Abu Salool asked for permission to be seen. The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'The evil-one of the clan, (but) allow him to come in.'
