The Virtues and Some Methods to Gain Them by Aunslaught ihd Bismillah Hir Rahman Irr Rahim, Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Aalimeen that Allah (swt) has created mankind and given mankind all that mankind needs to survive and grow, and to work on themselves to the point that they are pleasing to Allah (swt) by their attributes. Allah (swt) has not left people without ways to accomplish this, and through intense intention, reflection, identification and determination can one truly acquire the righteous attributes if he or she is immensely focused on becoming such a spiritual warrior that he or she is pleasing to Allah (swt). Meditation and pondering over the soul and distinguishing between the soul and the ego, distinguishing between the right and the wrong, distinguishing between the virtues and the vices, the sincerity and the hypocrisy and distinguishing between the light and darkness, on the outside and on the inside, leads to an understanding that will lead to deeper perception of the truth. Imam Ahmad Al Hassan (a.s), the Yamani of the End Times and the Successor of Imam Muhammad Mahdi (a.s) has said: "Not everything that fights darkness is light, but everything that fights light is darkness, so know the light, and you will know the darkness." Now we find in Hadith some virtues that can be obtained by recitation of particular Surahs of the Holy Qur'an. In this article, some of them will InshaAllah be compiled, so if anyone is in the attempt of gaining the virtues listed, if they recite the Surah that the Imams (a.s) have told us to recite to obtain that virtue, InshaAllah they will obtain that virtue. Bismillah Hir Rahman Irr Rahim Faith: Surah al-Mumtahanah (The Examined One) This surah was revealed in Makkah and it has 13 verses. It is narrated from Imam Ali Zainul Abideen (a.s) that if a person recites this surah in any of his prayers (salaat), his heart will become filled with faith and belief. On the Day of Judgement, all the believing men and women will pray for him to be forgiven by Allah (s.w.t). Recitation of this surah increases the acuity of vision and protects the reciter and his children from insanity. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w) has said that angels send salutations and pray for the forgiveness of the one who recites this surah. If he dies on that day then he will have died as a martyr. Drinking water in which this surah has been dissolved also acts as a cure for some ailments. Surah al-Haqqah (The Sure Calamity) This surah was revealed in Makkah and it has 52 verses. Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s) has advised that this surah should be recited often in prayers as this is a sign of faith. This surah has praise for Imam Ali (a.s) and insult for Mu’awiya ibn Aba Sufyan (l.a). The Holy Prophet (s.a.w) has said that reciting this surah makes the accounting of deeds on the Day of Reckoning easier. If this surah is worn as a talisman by a pregnant woman, then her baby will be safe. Giving water in which this surah has been dissolved to a child will make his memory and intellect improve. Imam Muhammad alBaqir (a.s) said that the one who recites this surah will never lose his religion. Surah al-Bayyinah (The Clear Evidence) This surah has 8 ayaat and it is a ‘madani’ surah. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w) said that if people knew the benefits of reciting this surah, they would leave their work in order to learn it. If a person recites this ((0
