Bismillah Hir Rahman Irr
Rahim,
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil
Aalimeen that Allah (swt) has
created mankind and given
mankind all that mankind
needs to survive and grow, and
to work on themselves to the
point that they are pleasing to
Allah (swt) by their attributes.
Allah (swt) has not left people
without ways to accomplish
this, and through intense
intention, reflection,
identification and
determination can one truly
acquire the righteous attributes
if he or she is immensely
focused on becoming such a
spiritual warrior that he or she
is pleasing to Allah (swt).
Meditation and pondering over
the soul and distinguishing
between the soul and the ego,
distinguishing between the
right and the wrong,
distinguishing between the
virtues and the vices, the
sincerity and the hypocrisy and
distinguishing between the
light and darkness, on the
outside and on the inside, leads
to an understanding that will
lead to deeper perception of the
truth.
Imam Ahmad Al Hassan (a.s),
the Yamani of the End Times
and the Successor of Imam
Muhammad Mahdi (a.s) has
said: "Not everything that
fights darkness is light, but
everything that fights light is
darkness, so know the light,
and you will know the
darkness."
Now we find in Hadith some
virtues that can be obtained by
recitation of particular Surahs
of the Holy Qur'an. In this
article, some of them will
InshaAllah be compiled, so if
anyone is in the attempt of
gaining the virtues listed, if
they recite the Surah that the
Imams (a.s) have told us to
recite to obtain that virtue,
InshaAllah they will obtain that
virtue.

Surah al-Mumtahanah (The
Examined One) This surah was
revealed in Makkah and it has
13 verses. It is narrated from
Imam Ali Zainul Abideen (a.s)
that if a person recites this
surah in any of his prayers
(salaat), his heart will become
filled with faith and belief. On
the Day of Judgement, all the
believing men and women will
pray for him to be forgiven by
Allah (s.w.t). Recitation of this
surah increases the acuity of
vision and protects the reciter
and his children from insanity.
The Holy Prophet (s.a.w) has
said that angels send
salutations and pray for the
forgiveness of the one who
recites this surah. If he dies on
that day then he will have died
as a martyr. Drinking water in
which this surah has been
dissolved also acts as a cure for
some ailments.
Surah al-Haqqah (The Sure
Calamity)
This surah was revealed in
Makkah and it has 52 verses.
Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s) has
advised that this surah should
be recited often in prayers as
this is a sign of faith. This surah
has praise for Imam Ali (a.s)
and insult for Mu’awiya ibn
Aba Sufyan (l.a). The Holy
Prophet (s.a.w) has said that
reciting this surah makes the
accounting of deeds on the Day
of Reckoning easier. If this
surah is worn as a talisman by a
pregnant woman, then her
baby will be safe. Giving water
in which this surah has been
dissolved to a child will make
his memory and intellect
improve. Imam Muhammad alBaqir (a.s) said that the one
who recites this surah will
never lose his religion.
Surah al-Bayyinah (The Clear
Evidence)
This surah has 8 ayaat and it is
a ‘madani’ surah. The Holy
Prophet (s.a.w) said that if
people knew the benefits of
reciting this surah, they would
leave their work in order to
learn it. If a person recites this ((0
