A well-known burden that
seems to make people
disbelieve that Imam AlMahdi (a.s) is if he has an
offspring or a progeny.
This is because they
cannot accept that Imam
Al-Mahdi (a.s) is married.
Personally, I also had a
hard time believing and
accepting that Imam AlMahdi (a.s) has a progeny
and is married and I am
also pretty sure the
majority of Muslims will have a
hard time accepting that Imam
Al-Mahdi (a.s) is married, and
some will never accept it, and
Allah knows best.
The fundamental reason for us
Muslims having a hard time
believing that Imam Al-Mahdi
(a.s) is married is because we
have never heard of it, nobody
ever told us, and we have never
been acquainted with such a
thing. However when we were
acquainted, we were shocked.
But the truth is there is nothing
wrong with Imam Al-Mahdi
(a.s) having been married.
In fact, if we carefully study the
of Ahlul bayt (a.s) or the
wonderful religious
benefits. For example,
narrations state that a
prayer accomplished by a
married man is better than
72 prayers accomplished
by an unmarried man.
Furthermore, there are a
lot of Quranic verses
which encourage Muslims
to get married.
For example:
narrations and Qur'an, it would
not seem normal if Imam AlMahdi (a.s) was not married.
Some people might say that
Imam Al-Mahdi (a.s) is
Infallible and he is unlike us
and does not have the same
desires as we do. Firstly, all
successors of Allah (s.w.t) are
normal humans, in the Qur'an
Allah (s.w.t) states: “Say, "I am
only a man like you.”
Secondly Imam Al-Mahdi (a.s)
does not necessarily get married
for the reason of breaking his
desire, there are other reasons,
such as continuing the progeny
[24:32] Arrange the marriage
of the spouseless among
you, and the capable from
among your bondmen an
