person who used analogy was Iblis (l.a) when he (l.a) said ‘Lord, you have created me (l.a) from the fire and created him (a.s) from clay’. He (l.a) analogised fire with clay. If he (l.a) had compared the light in Adam (a.s) and the light of the fire, he would have learned about the difference between the two lights and the excellence of one over the other'." Al-Kafi vol.1, H 176, Ch.19, h20. Imam Ja'far Al-Sadiq (a.s): "Recognize the status of our (a.s) Shiites in accordance with how many good narrations they relate from us (a.s), for we (a.s) do not consider the Faqih from among them to be a Faqih unless they are narrators of our (a.s) Ahadith." It was said to him (a.s): "Is a believer a narrator of Ahadith?" He (a.s) said: "He is an understanding one; an understanding one is a narrator of Ahadith." Wasail ul-Shia H.33453. *From the above hadith it is clear that a Faqih is not one who practices Ijtihad and therefore not a Mujtahid, but a Faqih is STRICTLY one who has knowledge of and narrates the Ahadith of the Masoomeen (a.s). Therefore if you require guidance on any matter you are not to refer to a mujtahid, but only to refer to a Faqih, and a Faqih is only one who has knowledge of - and refers the matters to - the Book and ahadith!!! Memorize and share from 40 Ahadith of the Masoomeen(asws) and according to them(asws) you will be raised as a Faqih yourself!!! Can we call a Mujtahid a Faqih? OF COURSE NOT!!! The two terms are far from compatible. One is knowledgeable based on the knowledge taken from the Masoomeen (a.s) through knowledge of the Book and Ahadith, while the other by definition does Ijtihad with regards to the Book and is left to resort to analogy, opinion, guesswork, reason, fallible logic, and as such he and those who follow him are doomed!* *Anyone who "Strives" in any cause is a "Mujtahid" whether for good or evil, it is not a title of any significance WHATSOEVER!!! It means "one who strives/makes effort" - from the same root as the word "Jihad".* The Rasool Allah (s.a.w): "One who from my (s.a.w) community memorizes forty Ahadith, benefits the people by them, Allah (azwj) will send him on the Day of Judgement as a Faqih, a Knowledgeable one." - Wasail ul Shia H. 33299. Abu Abd Allah (a.s): "One who memorizes from our (a.s) Ahadith, forty Ahadith, Allah(azwj) will send him on the Day of Judgement as a Faqih, a Knowledgeable one." - Wasail ul Shia H. 33293. The Rasool Allah (s.a.w): "One who learns some knowledge from one who is firm in it is better than one who prayed 1000 cycles of Prayer." - Wasail ul Shia H. 33121.
