T H E S T R A I G H T P A T H 19. Recite Surah Yousuf. It will protect you from lustful desire and make you as beautiful as Prophet Yusuf (a.s), it is 111 Ayaat long, so do whatever you can. I mostly do it in English, but it is up to you. 20. Do not swear. It is wrong. You are on a Journey to eradicate injustice in yourself, while foulmouthing in anger or even during jokes is not allowed. Allah (swt) Likes jokes, as long as they are not vulgar. 21. PRAY AND ASK ALLAH (SWT), FROM THE WASILA OF THE IMAMS, THE PROPHETS, THE MAHDIYYEEN AND THE SHAHEEDS OF KARBALA, Salaam on all of them. They are intercessors. Allah (swt) is the One who Grants. 22. When you are caught up in desire so much so that it is crushing your heart and making you despair, do not swallow it and give a vibe of anger to the world as the guys in movies do, with the audience sympathizing at their every move, but unfold the Janamaz and complain of your sorrows to Allah (swt). 9. Do Justice. Not a single deed of yours must contain injustice. When a family member or a friend or a random person or an enemy does injustice to you, do not do injustice back to him. Your deeds are your own, and their deeds are their own. Your sole purpose on this Green Earth is to Worship Allah (swt), as is theirs. Just because they are not doing it properly does not mean you have also got to stray from the right path. 10. Do not let a single Namaz go by in which you do not learn anything. There is a Hadith saying that the Namaz in which you do not learn anything is not accepted. 11. Make an account on your computer. Fill it with points pertaining to everything you have learned on which day of your journey. (Day 1: These facts, these Hadith etc) 12. Remember your intention the day before you start your Journey about why you will do your Journey. Keep that intention pure. You will purify yourself so that when you go to Allah (swt), He gets a pure servant. Do not forget this. This Journey is not self-willed, no matter how much Satan wants it to be. 13. Watch out for signs. "Everything that your eyes see holds a lesson." Imam Ali (a.s) 14. Do not lose hope. Even if a relative of yours dies during the journey or you get handicapped for life. The Mercy of Allah (swt) is in His trials. "A Believer can not be a True Believer until he sees his Blessings as his Trials and his Trials and his Blessings." Imam Ali (a.s). 32 15. Know that true love is only when Allah (swt) Loves someone, you Love Allah (swt) and hence you love that person. Love originates from the Creator of Love, so all the emotions that make you distant from Him can not be true Love. Since Allah (swt) is the Lover of Love, He wants you to Love for His Sake, or else you will not be in Love, you will be in Delusion. Negativity will follow from Delusion and you keep getting further and further from Him. Do not do this injustice to your Lover, Allah (swt). 16. Cancel Music. Erase it. Completely. You will hear no music in your journey. It is Haram. It is Haram. It is Haram. Refrain from it is the tool of Dajjal. Hear instead, natural sounds like water gushing from a waterfall. Hear also Nauhas of Karbala. Hear also the recitation of Quran. 17. Maintain the Dawn Recital. At dawn, recite the Qur'an. Do not be negligent of the Trust that Allah (swt) Has Given His people. Before going to sleep: The Messenger of Allah (Blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) has said: “One who recites ten verses (ayat) of the Qur’an every night will not be counted amongst the negligent ones (Ghafilin); and one who recites fifty verses (ayat) will be written as those who remember Allah (Dhakirin); and one who recites one hundred verses (ayat) will be written down as the obedient and worshiper of Allah (Qanitin).” Thawabul A’mal, Page 232 18. Do you have an Ipod or mp3 player or something of the sort? A good idea would be to download the Qur'an onto it and put the headphones in your ears and sleep with the Qur'an being recited. [Surah Yousuf:86] He (Yaqoub a.s) said: I only complain of my grief and anguish to Allah, and I know from Allah what you do not know. 23. Know that you are pathetic. You are nothing. At all. Accept that which Allah (swt) makes you. You are entirely dependent on Him. You could not blink or see, if it were not for Him. He has All the Power and He does whatever He wants. You would not be existent and your parents would not be existent, if it were not for Him. All Praise is to Him. Do the Dua to Him that Imam Hussain (a.s) did. "O my Allah, the honour of being You
