b. Sabra and 'Umar b. Muslim to Zaid b. Arqam and,
as we sat by his side, Husain said to him:
"Zaid. you have been able to acquire a great virtue
that you saw Allah's Messenger (may peace be
upon him) listened to his talk, fought by his side
in (different) battles, offered prayer behind me.
Zaid, you have in fact earned a great virtue. Zaid,
narrate to us what you heard from Allah's
Messenger (may peace be upon him)."
He said: "I have grown old and have almost spent
my age and I have forgotten some of thethings
which I remembered in connection with Allah's
Messenger (may peace be upon him), so accept
whatever I narrate to you, and which I do not
narrate do not compel me to do that."
He then said:
"One day Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon
him) stood up to deliver sermon at a watering
place known as Khumm situated between Mecca
and Medina. He praised Allah, extolled Him and
delivered the sermon and exhorted (us) and said:
'Now to our purpose. O people, I am a human
being. I am about to receive a messenger (the angel
of death) from my Lord and I, in response to
Allah's call, (would bid good-bye to you), but I am
leaving among you twoweighty things: the one
being the Book of Allah in which there is right
guidance and light, so hold fast to the Book of
Allah and adhere to it. ‘
He exhorted (us) (to hold fast) to the Book of Allah
and then said: 'The second are the members of my
household I remind you (of your duties) to the
members of my family.'
He (Hussain) said to Zaid:
''Who are the members of his household? Aren't
his wives the members of his family?'
Thereupon he said:
'His wives are the members of his family (but
here) the members of his family are those for
whom acceptance of Zakat is forbidden.'
And he said:
'Who are they?'
Thereupon he said:
'Ali and the offspring of 'Ali, 'Aqil and the
offspring of 'Aqil and the offspring of Ja'far and
the offspring of 'Abbas.'
Husain said:
'These are those for whom the acceptance of Zakat
is forbidden.'
Zaid said:
'Yes.' "

And most muslims will tell you that on this day
after the Farewell Sermon had been given the final
verses of the Qur’an was revealed to the Prophet
Muhammad (s.a.w).
The Holy Qur’an (5: 3);
"This day, I have perfected your religion for you,
completed My Favor upon you, and have chosen
for you Islâm as your religion."
So on the day that the religion was perfected and
completed, the Apostle of Allah (s.a.w) announced
to the people that after his passing Ali (a.s) would
be the leader and also that so long as the connection
to the family of the Prophet (s.a.w) was kept and
their rights were given them then a connection to
the Prophet of Allah s.a.w would still exist, through
the household (a.s) of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w).
Just as the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) coming to
the world was foretold so was foretold the coming
of 12 princes after him, which Muhammad s.a.w
himself testified to.
Sahih Bukhari: narration 9: 101, Sahih Muslim:
hadith 1821
"I heard the Prophet (s.a.w) saying 'twelve princes'
then he said a word I did not hear, then my father
said 'All of them are from Quraish.' "
And as I mentioned it had been foretold in the Bible
as well.
Genesis 17: 20.
“And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: behold, I
have blessed him and I have made him fruitful,
and I will multiply him exceedingly: twelve
princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great
nation”.
And it is from these 12 princes from which Imam
Muhammad Al-Mahdi (as) will come.
Sunan Ibn Majah, v2, Tradition 4085
The Prophet (s.a.w) said: "al-Mahdi is one of us, the
members of the household i.e. Ahlul-Bayt (a.s)."
The Prophet (s.a.w) said: "Even if the entire
duration of the world's existence has already been
exhausted and only one day is left (before the day
of Judgment), Allah will expand that day to such a
length of time, as to accommodate the kingdom of
a person from my Ahlul-Bayt who will be called
by my name. He will fill out the earth with peace
and justice as it will have been full of injustice
and tyranny (by then)."

I would like to now show you the importance of
that which I have mentioned, that which has been
testified to by Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w), the
Prophet (pbut) of old in the bible and this proof is
truly undeniable.
Salaah is the 1st pillar of Islam, did you know that
all that I have mentioned is contained in salaah, that
which should be performed 5 times a day.
I leave you with a question asked to and answered
by Imam Ahmad Al-Hassan (a.s), The Yamani from
the family of Muhammad (s.a.w), Ahmed a.s who
was mentioned in the Will of the Prophet
Muhammad (s.a.w by name in his ( ˘K
