Yazid heard from his spies about the invitations
to Imam Hussain a.s and Hazrat Muslim's a.s
arrival, he became furious.
He sent his governor, Ibn e Ziad from Basra to
take over the position of the governor in Kufa. He
was also told by Yazid to arrest Hazrat Muslim a.s
and kill him. When Ibn e Ziad arrived at Kufa, he
announced himself as the governor of Kufa and
ordered the people to surrender Hazrat Muslim a.s.
Hazrat Muslim a.s was staying with a man
named Mukhtar but had to move to the house of
Hani bin Urwa, secretly but Ibn e Ziad found out
soon where he was. Hani was thrown into prison
and Hazrat Muslim a.s was arrested.
After Hazrat Muslim a.s was arrested, Ibn e
Ziad told him that he would kill him and asked him
if he had any last wishes. According to reports,
Hazrat Muslim a.s said:
"I owe a debt which should be discharged
by selling off my sword and armor. Secondly, I
want my body to be given a proper burial.
Thirdly I want a message sent to Imam
Hussain a.s, advising him not to come to
Kufa."
He agreed to the first wish but refused the other
two. He then ordered Hazrat Muslim a.s to be taken
to the roof of the palace to be executed and his
body to be thrown from the roof to the ground.
Immediately after that he dragged Hani to the roof
and executed him.
Hazrat Muslim a.s sacrificed himself and his
two sons for the sake of Allah proving his loyalty and
faithfulness to the son of Hazrat Ali a.s
