STRAIGHTPATHMONTHLY December 2011
Sakina a.s and thanks the woman
asking what is her name? The woman
responds saying, "Zainab a.s do you not
recognize me, I'm your mother!" Wa
Mazlooma! Wa Ghareeba! Wa
Zainaba!
I will never forget Karbala. I will
never forget the Sacrifices you family
made, O my Imams a.s. I owe so much
to you and your family, My Imams a.s,
the Hujjah of Allah swt. My Creator is
the Best Provider who has Provided the
world with such a Mercy that is
Muhammad s.a.w and His Ahlul Bayt
a.s. Hussain a.s set the standard. The
Banner of Loyalty of Abbas a.s still
hangs high. The Companions of
Hussain a.s exemplify the importance of
recognizing the Hujjah of Allah
swt. The women of Karbala, gave their
men for the Sake of Allah swt, without
thinking anything of it. Hussain a.s
maintained the standard and Islam and
Salah is still established.
Zainab a.s you went to Shaam
without a Hijaab, and throughout the way you tried to hide
your face. When each martyr was killed, the women cried
saying the names of the martyr... but when Abbas a.s was
killed, the women cried "Wa Hijaaba! Wa Abbasa!"
The Daughter of Fatima a.s, such honor! Fatima a.s, the
Best Woman, no one had ever even seen her footprints when
she walked... In fact when she went to Mubahila with
Muhammad s.a.w, her sons and her husband, Muhammad
s.a.w had Hussain a.s in his arms, and Hasan a.s was holding
his hand, Fatima a.s was behind them and Ali a.s was behind
her. As Muhammad s.a.w walked, Fatima a.s walked on his
footprints and Ali a.s on hers.
No one could say they saw the footprints of Fatima a.s and
Zainab a.s, you were forced to go to Shaam without your veil,
today Zainab a.s I wear hijaab because of you. I owe you so
much, I cannot even explain. This is not just a piece of cloth,
this is the difference between Hussainiyat and Yazeediyat.
From a young
age, and coming from a Sunni background, I never understood
certain parts of religion. But I knew that if Ali a.s was a
Muslim, I have to be that because if Ali a.s follows something
then it is right, for Haq is with Ali a.s and Ali a.s is with Haq.
My faith led me here. I did not know Hijaab until I came to
visit Zainab a.s and I knew that because she cried for it so
much, I have to do it.
Alhamdolillah Rabbil Alameen, Alhamdolilah Rabbil
Alameen, Alhamdolillah Rabbil Alameen. All Praise is Due to
Allah swt for Giving us Islam, Quran, Muhammad s.a.w and
his Ahlul Bayt a.s, for without them we would be lost. You
Guided us Through Them, Alhamdolillah Rabbil Alameen.
My condolences to the Imams a.s of my time, Muhammad
al Mahdi a.s and Ahmed al Hassan, Yamani Ahlul Bayt a.s, for
the brutal murders and injustices your family faced in Karbala
and after that in Shaam and continued to face even after that.
O my Imams a.s, Only you know how you Carry this pain, how
you cry for these injustices, my Imams a.s. May Allah swt
THE SHAHADAT OF
HAZRAT MUSLIM a.s
By Aliwaley
Muslim ibn Aqeel a.s was the cousin
of Imam Hussain a.s and the son of
Aqeel ibn Abu Talib. Whenever mention
is made of Hazrat Muslim a.s, one is
immediately reminded of courage,
faithfulness and sacrifice. His loyalty,
6
integrity and steadfastness still shine
upon the name of Islam with pride at his
achievements.
Hazrat Muslim a.s was martyred on
the 9th of Zilhaj in the year 60 AH in
the city of Kufa where he was sent by
Hazrat Imam Hussain a.s as his emissary
to look closely at the situation before
Imam's a.s arrival in Kufa.
Imam Hussain a.s received a letter
from Kufa, saying:
