entrusted to him, he would have held it and led them smoothly, He would not have harmed them the size of a thread, Nor would his followers stammer, (meaning they would have lived in harmony under his rule). He surely would have delivered them to a spring pure, lush, abundant, flowing over its banks yet its sides are not muddy. He certainly would have brought them back satisfied and advised them secretly and publicly without providing himself with any availing thing. Nor would he favor himself with the worldly things with any gain, save that which would quench the thirst of the thirsty, and feed the hungry. Surely the abstinent would have been distinguished from the desirous, and the truthful from the liar. Had the people of the town believed and feared Allah, We should indeed have opened out to them (all kinds of) blessings from Heaven and Earth; but they rejected (the truth), and We brought them to book for their misdeeds. And the wrongdoers of this generation; the results of their deeds will soon overtake them (too), and they will never be able to frustrate (Our Plan)!" It is clear from the content of her words to the women that the blame of the condition of the nation was due to the peoples neglect of the Laws and Commands of Allah (swt) and that they had gone off the path of the Instruction of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w, had the people not taken for themselves the unjust and oppressive leaders, they would have stayed in the favor of Allah swt and seen the results for themselves. Had they stood up against injustice, they would have indeed been successful and Allah (swt) would have given them abundance beyond their imaginations. Abundance in faith, knowledge, worldly riches, and a place in paradise. So we are given the remembrance of her death now in these coming days to reflect on the similitude of the condition of the believers today and the matter concerning the Yamani (a.s), the acceptance or rejection of the Sovereignty of the People and the Sovereignty of God, repeated in each chapter of history! "And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way." 25:27 'Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend.' 25:28 And we stand before the end of a cycle and the dawn of a new day, and it is clear that the time has come in which we must wake up from the deep comatose condition the world has been in and come to awareness of the truth of the situation. Indeed it is the stand of the people which ensures the stronghold of a dictator, since a tyrant can only command those who will follow; alone he would find no armies to terrorize with, and no refuge with those who oppose him, if the people would have been united in the ways of the Prophet (s.a.w), and had fear of Allah (swt) and followed His commands rather than the imposed rules and laws of a self appointed leader, Allah (swt) would have ensured the demise of all those who tried to oppress them, but they lacked sincerity and faith. If men would have been clear sighted in the face of the truth and courageous in the face of injustice, they would have entered the plentiful gardens of Allah swt and peace; instead like the people of Moses a.s and Samarii, they were forced to enter 'The Labyrinth' and this is their trial and their punishment for obstinacy and seeking supremacy on earth by creed rather then the state of justice (in their hearts) and doing right toward their Lord and his commandments and His creation for the Sake of Allah (swt). A Branch from the Sacred tree Thus, the branch of the Tree of the Prophet (s.a.w) which he left among his nation, lost its flower and its branches became scattered, the Muslims and their plight became similar to that of the nation of Moses a.s, a rebellious people. And the 'drought' of the ignorant dried up the bounties they received from their Lord and fell into oppression overpowered by tyranny , the likes of Pharoah l.a and the earlier children of Israel who went astray. So it has remained an era of difficulty and trials, because the believers refused to take a stand against the enemy of the Ahlul Bayt (a.s) and allowed their rights to be seized from them, accepting appointed leaders by the people instead of the representatives of Allah (swt) on earth to govern them, a transgression against the command of Allah (swt). Sayyed Ahmad Al Hassan (a.s) says in 'The Labyrinth or the Path to Allah', "And in these papers an Ummah that went into deviation and got out of it and a nation that got into it and still is in it, and these papers are guidance to the way out of the labyrinth" Imam Ahmad Al Hassan (a.s) The Labyrinth or the Path to God. "And the Labyrinth was a punishment for them, for the rebellion against Moses (a.s) against the divine order of entering 54
