CHAPTER WINS
2014 - 2015 WAS A YEAR OF HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENTS. IN ADDITION TO THOSE
LISTED ON THE PREVIOUS PAGE, HERE ARE A FEW THAT DESERVE A QUICK LOOK.
1. At the 2015 National Convention, the National Council awarded the Delta Omicron chapter
at Cornell for having the most improved rush turnout during the fall of 2014. This chapter
improved its rush turnout by 50%, with 120 rush attendees and saw a 78% increase in
accepted bids year over year.
2. Our new chapters also saw a strong improvement in their first year from fall of 2014 to
spring of 2015. Indiana University saw a 52% increase in attendance, 100% bid acceptance
and a 7% increase in bid acceptance over last year, University of Michigan had an incredibly
strong rush turnout of 160 rush attendees and a 90% bid acceptance rate. This is the
second highest rush turn out rate for all of our chapters.
The Gamma Xi chapter at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Charlotte, NC
3. Phi Gamma Nu chapters around took to the road and visited cities and businesses across
the nation. Thirty-four members of the Gamma Xi chapter at the Indiana University of
Pennsylvania went to Charlotte, NC where they toured blue chip companies and had dinner
with local alumni. The Delta Phi chapter at the University of Michigan took members to
Detroit where they toured four businesses and participated in a tree lighting ceremony. In
2015, the chapter took a similar trip to Chicago where they toured Wrigley, Linkedin, and
Assurance.
4. Several women from the Delta Upsilon chapter at Washington University in St. Louis put on
a panel for “OWN IT”, a summit designed to encourage women of WashU and the St. Louis
community to be their best selves, while encouraging each other to do the same. Nearly 20
chapter members attended this event in support of the colleagues and the cause.
5. The Delta Omicron chapter at Cornell University started the “Dream Catcher Lecture
Series”, which hosts young entrepreneurs who are invited to share their accomplishments
and their careers. Phi Gamma Nu alumna, Chantell Garrett spoke about her non-profit
organization.
6. The Delta Psi chapter at Indiana University raised $2,000 for The Indiana University Dance
Marathon, an amazing foundation and event that raises millions of dollars for the sick
children of Riley Hospital.
