Other windows to the unconscious/pre-conscious occur through the arts.

French surrealist poets used “automatic writing” and certainword games to bypass the conscious mind and directly produce dreamimagery.

Abstract expressionists poured pure emotions into images on canvases which (like Rorschach ink-bots) revealed the viewers pre-conscious, as well as that of the artists. Surrealist painters offered visual glimpses into unconscious, often revealing multiple coexisting meanings (ex, Salvador Dali’s famous Invisible sleeping woman, horse, lion).
