MAQ Magazine n. 9 /January 2019

Starry nights, all our cooking on campfires, just as often carried out by Willie who had abandoned life as a chef for the camels, sometimes cold rain and mud, hot days and wonderful scenery, small towns and villages, and station people of tremendous kindness. Sometimes camped at scalding hot artesian bores, other times a wash was with a billy of water away in the scrub. Long lonely road happy in our plodding travels, our lives totally remote and separated to the encapsulating glass and metal that hurtled past us in a whirling tube of strange screaming laughing waving camera snapping occupants.
