MAQ Magazine n. 10 / February 2019

Hello friends!

This issue of February is dedicated to Marco Bozzini, longtime artist with many exhibitions in Italy and abroad, winner of important international awards. Important Italian critics have written about him and his works have a strong impact on the observer that is transported to a world of vibrant sensitivity, where light seems to spring from nothing.

The other columns are all confirmations, I mention only two particularities: three articles written in Russian language and for the first time a poem by Diana Coatu.

We are approaching the MAQ exhibitions in March and April, dedicated to the theme of our latest competition and its catalog, "Quantum Creativity as an Antidote for Human Survival". The underlying concept refers to the fact that quantum physics has brought to a completely different concept of the subatomic world with respect to the Cartesian mechanic physics and in some ways, Newtonian. Cartesian philosophy and science conceives the human body and nature in a mechanistic way: everything can be described mathematically, everything is a machine made up of innumerable gears. This led to a dualism not only between the mind and body of the human being, but also between man and nature, man and society: nature is considered as a machine from which to draw all the economic benefits possible, as if it did not have life. The conception of Cartesian dualism was taken as a model of social development, economic, cultural and political e later they were taken from Newton only the concepts that corroborated the argument of Descartes, that is, that the universe is made up of particles that move in an "absolute space" and in an "absolute time". Quantum physics has overturned the mechanistic concept and has shown that the universe consists of particles that cooperate with each other to "build" everything we see, from our body to the farthest star. The relationships between particles are of close cooperation and the force employed produces new particles, new states of matter, new life.

Quantum Art is inspired by these concepts to redefine the philosophy underlying the current social system, economic, cultural and political: for human survival we must choose the information that is transmitted to us every day and direct our cognitive system towards an evolution that leads us to consider cooperation between individuals and peoples as indispensable and necessary for human survival.
